Across the school, pupils’ English lessons are currently based on ‘The Snowman’, by Raymond Briggs. Due to the heavy snowfall, pupils in Class 6 made their very own snowman. In their English lesson, they then had to write a set of instructions, using the subjunctive voice, to explain how to build a perfect snowman. They then made their instructions into an iMovie.

Wednesday 6th December, Class 6, along with the rest of the school, participated in a ‘Turkey Trot’ with Rob Proud. The school made a donation to a local charity, the Angel Trust, due to the pupils’ participation. The event involved a fitness instructor, Rob Proud, dressed as a turkey, and pupils, also dressed in turkey headdresses, to complete a variety of fitness dances. A great time was had by all.

Last month, Class 6 had a visitor, Jay, to learn all about Diwali, linked to their learning in RE. Firstly, pupils in Class 6 attended an assembly, led by Jay, learning all about Diwali. From this, they then had a session with Jay and decorated their own Diwali jars.

After working so hard during lunchtimes this half term, show day was finally here! The KS2 Christmas choir performed beautifully this afternoon, getting every song, every dance, and every shake of a maraca or tambourine absolutely perfect! Well done, West Cornforth Choir!
