Creative Shed Video
Year 5 and 6 have been working on the Art Shed at lunchtimes, please watch their video to find out more.
Measuring Angles
Class 5 and 6 have been working outdoors during their maths lesson, they investigated the angles of shadows during different times across the morning. Each group set up their own investigation, measured the angles using a protractor and decided on appropriate time intervals. They used their results to plot points on a line graph.
Investigating Volume
During maths, Class 5 and 6 had fun investigating volume, using a range of resources to set up their own investigations. Children carried out a range of investigations, which included: using different soaps to create bubbles, comparing the volume of a bottle with that of a cube and comparing volumes of different recycled bottles. They recorded their results in a table and formulated a conclusion to their ‘big’ question.
Light Investigation
Our Year 6 children have been studying light in science, do you know what happens when you place a picture of an arrow behind a full glass of water?
Can you use you scientific knowledge to explain why this happens?
Fantastic Fossils
Year 5/6 children had the opportunity to take part in a brilliant workshop about fossils. They learnt lots of new information about different dinosaur species and whether they were herbivores, omnivores or carnivores. Using their brushes, they carefully revealed fossils that were lying beneath the sand, what an interesting day!
Safer Internet Day 2019
We celebrated Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 5th February, children from each class created a piece of work related to their online safety brief. The eCadets helped to organise the event and were on hand to support each class throughout the day. We discussed lots of important information related to online safety, particularly consent and the way that we give, ask and receive consent in an online context. #OurInternetOurChoice
We would also like to thank the parents/guardians that attended the assembly and supported their children in classroom-based workshops.
Christmas Maths Trail
On Tuesday 4th December, Year 5 and 6 had a brilliant time enjoying their Christmas Maths Trail in the Winter sunshine. Children has devised their own maths questions to answer using our outdoor areas. Parents and carers joined us to have festive treats and drinks after completing the trail. Prizes were presented for the highest scores!
