It has been a wonderful time to be part of P.E. and sport at West Cornforth Primary School. We have had a first place at a multi skills festival, a first place in a netball tournament and the football team has started their fixtures in the CVL Premiership. Please view our slideshows below.
Multi-skills Winners
Year 4 went to a multi-skills tournament on 3rd February at Spennymoor Leisure Centre. They competed in a host of activities that included shooting, target practise, running and hopping. The team accumulated points and in the end were crowned…WINNERS! Each child in the class recieved a gold medal and were so proud to represent the school.Well done!
Netball Champions
On 4th March 6 children from Year 4, 5 and 6 represented West Cornforth Primary School in a Regional Netball Tournament. In the first round of group matches the results were as follows:
- West Cornforth 4 – 0 King Street B
- West Cornforth 3 – 0 St Charles A
We then progressed to the semi-final where we played Oxclose A and the result was:
- West Cornforth 3 – 0 Oxclose A
So it was on to the final where we played Tudhoe Colliery. In an epic, and very close, match the result was:
- West Cornforth 2 – 1 Tudhoe Colliery
WE WON! The team have now progressed to the finals on Tuesday 10th March at Aycliffe Leisure Centre. Watch this space.
