So far members of staff have visited the Wirral, Spain, Germany, Ireland and Czech Republic. The latest visit was in Sicily in February and now we are eagerly awaiting everyone to visit our school in March.
Visit to Sicily
Miss Hird, Mrs Smith and Mrs McLean all visited Sicily in February 2014. After a mammoth journey they arrived at the school and had a great experience taking in the local history and working with the children.
Visit to Germany
In May 2013, Mr Leake, Miss Hird and Mr Hamblin visited Rudolf-Ross-Grundschule. This is a primary school in the city of Hamburg. They were all made to feel very welcome. They spent time in the different clases and took part in some interesting lessons. The children performed a musical assembly and they had a sport festival complete with typical German food.
Visit to Ireland
Mrs Sarsfield, Mrs Charlton, Miss Hird and Miss Latcham visited Realt ne Mara Boys School, Donacarney in October. During their time in school they learnt about the history of the school and the educational system in Ireland. They also visited classes to meet the children and their teachers and discussed their curriculum. First class even performed a special song. The boys at Realt ne Mara were very keen to tell them about their favourite playground game, handball, which they play in their yard with just a ball and their hands! They were even lucky enough to witness the final of the handball tournament.
Visit to Czech Republic
Miss Hird, Mrs Cunliffe and Mrs Goldsmith had a great time in the Czech Republic! They brought back lots of ideas for some eco friendly Christmas decorations! Have a look at ours.
