The staff at West Cornforth Primary School are overwhelmed with all of the amazing work we have received this week. It has been nice to see children spending time doing home learning outside, as we have had some lovely weather this week! As always, the photos of learning in the video are brilliant, and we would like to thank children, parents and carers for sharing their home learning with us during the third week of school closures. Enjoy the video, see if you can spot your work/picture, and keep up the fantastic learning that is taking place at home!

We wanted to send a special message to the children of @westcornforthps to show them how much we miss them. Hope you’re all staying safe and having fun!
Yoga at School Resources for Children
Here are some brilliant resources from Yoga at School, which may help West Cornforth Primary School pupils and parents stuck at home during this very difficult time.
These resources are yoga video lessons that all children can practise at home during the lockdown, completely FREE! The lessons are simply structured, easy to follow and to teach, as well as safe, highly engaging and great fun. Parents do not need any yoga knowledge or experience to do this.
The lessons consist of THREE short animated videos, which you can download using the link below, and use when it best suits the children.

Mini Sports Event and Creative Egg Activities
When blessed with glorious sunshine, the children at school geared up for a mini Sports Day. Our students ran, skipped, hopped, jumped, dribbled, threw and even wheelbarrowed each other across the finish line with a lot of laughter. What better way to keep active under blue skies?
Over Easter, the children also enjoyed using a range of materials to make colourful, creative eggs. What a brilliant way to spend the day!
Reception Class Message
Our Reception Class, with help from their parents, have created a lovely picture to show their friends and teachers how much they miss them.
Talking Tips for Coronavirus
Please find attached a couple of resources that you might find useful.
The Keeping Calm document has lots of tips from Incredible Years about parenting with the children at home, during lockdown.
The book below, that can be printed off, is a lovely book illustrated by Axel Scheffler, to help explain Coronavirus to children, if you feel it is appropriate or needed.
There is also some information about the support that Little Treasures are providing during this time, this is for all parents, but has additional information about children with special educational needs.
