Zoolab

Zoolab, a company that specialises in animal handling experiences, came into school and worked with each class. The children experienced a range of different animals and even got to hold some. They were very brave!

Lumiere Litre of Light

Class 4 were invited to take part in the ‘Litre of Light’ project for Durham’s Lumiere Festival 2015. Local artist Mick Stephenson has been commissioned to build an installation for Durham Cathedral Cloisters. It will be a rose window made up of 2 litre bottles. We have completed ours and they will be added to the display.

Andy Warhol Inspired Art

The children created their own Andy Warhol inspired ‘Pop Art’ picture by manipulating pictures of themselves. They used chalk and felt-tip pens to create the effect.

Visit to Locomotion, Shildon

We had a great day at Locomotion! The children learned about how trains have changed over the last 150 years. We also focused on our famous inventor, George Stephenson, and we even got to see how to drive a steam train.

Visit to the Salvation Army

Harvest Festival Assembly

Class 1 and 2 celebrated the autumn season by performing a Harvest assembly in front of the school and parents. The story that they chose was ‘The Gigantic Turnip.’ Each child had a part to play, be it one of the animals, introducing the performance or singing beautifully on the stage. We were very proud of everyone who took part and here are some pictures of the day.
