Class 6 have been learning all about forests in geography. They recently went on a class trip to Hamsterley Forest. During a 4km walk, the children gathered and collected data, based on their pre-planned field study. Some children collected evidence relating to the reason people visit the forest, others looked at the tree species or wildlife. After a busy day collecting data, they finished it off with a picnic, on the bus, and played on the climbing frame.

To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10^th October 2023) pupils in Class 6 were tasked with considering positive and negative coping strategies when dealing with mental health and self-care top tips. They considered what helps their brain and thought about reflective questions. They then produced a video, linked to their learning in music, to raise awareness. In music, the pupils have been learning to sign the song ‘Happy’ by Pharell Williams, which they can be heard singing in the video.
