NSPCC Visit

October 10, 2022 by admin

Friday 7th October, NSPCC visited Class 6 to introduce their ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ campaign. Speak out Stay Safe is an online safeguarding programme for children aged 5- to 11-years-old.

The programme helps children understand:

  • Abuse in all its forms and how to recognise signs of abuse
  • That abuse is never a child’s fault and that they have the right to be safe
  • Where to get help and the sources of help available to them, including Childline Service

The assemblies, which feature Ant and Dec, support children to feel empowered – knowing how they can speak out and stay safe and include access to supporting classroom resources.

They are an effective way to support our school’s safeguarding duties and link directly to the curriculum as well as help reinforce key messages about abuse and neglect as part of our school’s teaching on relationships.

With the help of their mascot, Buddy the speech bubble, children will know they have the right to:

  • speak out and be heard
  • be safe
  • get help when they need it.

Want to know more about the programme? Take a look at the NSPCC website to find out more about what the service entails.

Virgin Money Make £5 Grow

July 18, 2022 by admin

Over the past few weeks, Class 6 have been very busy setting up their own businesses to make their money grow. The class split into 5 different businesses offering refreshments at break time to the rest of the school. From marketing to baking, Class 6 have truly taken charge of their businesses. During break time, they set their stalls up and were a hit with the rest of the school. The cake and biscuit stall sold out within minutes! This has been a great project for Class 6, they have learnt how to stick to a budget and make their money grow.

Year 1/2 Football Match

June 22, 2022 by admin

Our Year 1 and 2 children played their first football match against Fishburn Primary. Our children played fantastically well, coming away with a 12-0 victory. Every player scored during the game and Alfie walked away with the ‘player of the match’ performance. Well done everyone!
