On 14th November 2014 we had some visitors to our class. They were Durham University students from Germany and came to tell us all about their traditions at this time of year. They all explained to the class that in their country they celebrate the festival of St Martin on 11th November. The children make lanterns, they have bonfires and sing songs. Also, a traditional snack is made called a Weckmännl (bread man). We made, and tasted, these snacks and sang songs. We loved having them here!
