I was born and grew up in and around Durham City, attended primary school in Durham City and secondary in Sunderland. I studied maths and computer science at The Open University. I have lived and worked in Abu Dhabi and around the UK as an I.T. Consultant. I now live in Coxhoe with my partner.
My interests include volunteering with Citizens Advice Durham and yoga. I am learning to play the guitar and the mandolin.
I have a keen interest in education and I was previously a Governor at a special school as well as at another primary school. As a Governor at West Cornforth Primary School, and someone who experienced free school meals, I want to find ways for pupils to get the best start to life possible. I will always look for ways to enrich and extend the educational experience of our pupils.
